LIFE'S A PARTY

This week, Allie and I were going through our journal and planning out practical measures we could take to prepare for executing our ideas. We began to see a pattern emerge as we were talking about how and when we would do the ideas. The pattern was this: every single one of the ideas could easily be a PARTY. To prove that this is true, here is our list of party ideas so far...

* Four leaf clover search party (for St. Patrick's day, obviously)

* Diving into "Pool"-itics (a political debate meets pool party)

* Formal dinner party with cereal as the main course

* Jazz charity listening party

* Bob Ross painting party

* Bouncy house party

* End of school year picnic party

... and that's just to name a few.

Anyway, as we made the discovery that literally ANY concept, with a few modifications, could be made into a party, we began thinking of how this applies to life. As Hannah Montana once said (sang actually), "life's what you make it so let's make it rock"!!

Naturally, both Allie and I tend to want everything to be an adventure. We have to live and learn how to thrive in the mundane, boring, day-to-day, just like everyone else, though. With that said, we are learning that simplicity doesn't have to be boring. We can make our own fun and bring beauty into the dull monotonous parts of our every day. Every idea can be made into a party and so can mindless tasks.

If you decide that school is not going to be fun, then it won't. But if you decide that you will be intentional about seeking out the beauty and bringing the sunshine everywhere you go, this life will be one that you'll enjoy living. Your circumstance does not have the power over your feelings, your mindset does. Life's what you make it, so let's make it rock!

Until next week,

Lauren and Allie
